Title: P-central groups and Poincar\'e duality

Abstract: In the paper we consider the mod p cohomology ring for finite 
$p$-central groups which satisfy a certain extension property.
It turns out that the cohomology rings satisfies some sort of
Poincar\'e duality, and that this property characterizes these groups
provided $p$ is odd.
As a by-product we determine all finite groups which cohomology ring is 
isomorphic to the cohomology ring of an elementary abelian $p$-group.
