Abstract:
In this paper, the authors show that the Linckelmann cohomology ring 
and Hochschild cohomology ring of a block are isomorphic modulo radicals 
in many situations. For example, in every case when the block is cyclic 
or where the group is nilpotent or a Frobenius group. Many other examples 
are also checked and a version is obtained when the defect group is 
elementary abelian also.
