Abstract. We prove that the residual Clifford extension of any
character belonging to a $p$-block with cyclic defect groups is
naturally isomorphic to the Clifford extension of any simple
module belonging to that block. Our results imply that Dade's
inductive conjecture holds for blocks with cyclic defect groups.
