Computing automorphism groups of finite groups

A new method for computing the automorphism group Aut(G) of a
reasonably small finite group will be described in outline. The
method is compared with earlier ones, and with current more
specialized algorithms that handle the cases where G is a finite
p-group, or a finite soluble group.
