Abstract:
The paper gives a new degree bound for the genarators of vector invariants
of the symmetric group over an arbitrary commutative ring. As a corollary
we get a degree bound for invariant rings of arbitrary finite groups in
coprime characteristic (including characteristics < |G|, where
Noether's bound is not proved yet.)
