Paper Title:
Rank varieties and projectivity for
a class of local algebras

Short abstract:
We consider algebras K[X1,...,Xn]/(Xi^2),
for K an algebraically closed field. To any
finite dimensional module for this algebra
we associate a rank variety and show that
the vanishing of this variety characterizes
projectivity of the module. When char(K)=2
we recover Carlson's rank variety. We also
look at applications to Hecke algebras and 
AR quivers.
