ABDNP200478a02.JPG - H. Tinsley: Galvanometer Henry Tinsley began his business in 1904 making galvanometers and resistance boxes. He soon proved himself an innovative manufacturer whose products were consistently of the highest standard. Expanding his business, the address "H. Tinsley and Co. Ltd., Werndee Hall, South Norwood, London, S.E.25" became one the places to go for high precision electrical test equipment. Our collection includes many Tinsley items, particularly derivatives of the Wheatstone bridge and potentiometer, and galvanometers. Some came from a secondary-standard electrical test facility in the Department of Natural Philosophy. This galvanometer illustrates that craftsmanship and quality were hallmarks of Tinsley equipment. ABDNP:200478a
