Public RefNet events in 2013

On 31 July 2-13, in Berlin, the first RefNet event took place: the CogSci workshop ``Production of Referring Expressions: Bridging the gap between cognitive and computational approaches to reference" (PRE-CogSci 2013) . With around 50 participants, the workshop was very well attended. It's worth checking out the programme and proceedings , including 24 downloadable papers, 9 of which were presented as talks. The psycholinguistic angle on reference was particularly well represented.

Other talks on reference generation/production this summer (often with an emphasis on computation) can be found here. (For additions to the list, please contact k.vdeemter@abdn.ac.uk.)

In the summer of 2014, in Edinburgh, RefNet has organised a postgraduate summer school that will teach the skills and techniques that are required for research in computational psycholinguistics. Watch this space!
