Thomas Lee from Subsea 7 attended the University of Aberdeen’s New Kings building to give a presentation on Subsea 7’s ventures and expertise in the Subsea Construction sector. The lecture not only provided an insight to the daily working life of an engineering graduate at Subsea 7, but it also represented the prosperous future ahead for the company.
The lecture itself was presented in a different style from what we usually see at EngSoc. Thomas Lee went to the great effort of producing a more technically-orientated presentation which veered away from the standard recruitment presentations which describe how to fill in gradate job applications.
Eric McEwan from Subsea 7 also attended with Thomas to provide his advice and use his expertise to answer the typical taxing questions of our more senior engineering students. Thomas and Eric stayed behind for an hour after the presentation holding discussions with the attendees. This was very much appreciated by everyone. A big thank you to the both of you (Thomas and Ewan), and Subsea 7 for making this event happen.
Subsea 7 will be conducting the second piece of their three-part series of presentations on the 20th November which will be based on ‘Pipelines’. Keep an eye out for more details on our events information box on the right hand side of the website in the next upcoming week.
