Ex AUCC paddler(was before my time!), Stuart Fisher refuses to let "Canoeist" magazine sink without trace.  It may be out of publication and off the shelves but once again Stuart has compiled a one off issue to keep the old readership loyal and interested.  Try it yourselves with articles on Sea; Surf; Flat and White Water, river guides and book reviews and Stuarts ever caustic take on BCU issues.

Not in the same league as the epic Alpine stuff, but AKC have a trip on the Dee this Sunday (29/06).  Meeting at Potarch Bridge 11:30 if you are interested in a paddle.

If you need transport from Aberdeen we are meeting at Seaton 10am.

Late start as we are going on for a Club family BBQ afterwards.

To let you guys know the kayak Club plans in case you are around and in need of a paddling fix:

OK Trip plan for the 13th:-

Plan A - Meet @ Seaton circa 09:00 if you need boats etc.
- Meet @ Gannochy Blue Door circa 10:00 if you have all your own kit

Run the Gannochy section with Rocks of Solitude and Fishladder etc. Liable to be fairly technical Grade 3/4 as the river will not be that high. So lots of gnarly drops and boulder choked rapids.

Plan B : Check the SEPA site and Met Office site next week, if no water/rain may opt to transfer to the Tummel

- Meet @ Seaton circa 09:00 for boats etc
- Meet @ Clunie Picnic Site circa 11:30

Please PM your contact details so that we can coordinate any late changes with lack of water etc.

ireland, that sounds guinness-tastic, but it lacks realistic potential. but going back to scotland, obivously the NESK possibly this weekend, and then judging on peoples ability and water levels have a shot at something abit more adventerous.

Check out www.canoepolo.com forums, there is a big Polo Tournament coming up @ Enniskillen (1-3 Aug) so you may be able to wander over and join in with the Irish boating scene.  

They seem to have a few Tournaments on in Ireland at the moment, although some mey be down South.
