Business and Industrial Applications of IT: Home

This is a placement course for students to take while working with a business, or on a project for an extended period of time. There are three versions of the course depending upon the time you want to spend with the business:

Participation in this course:

The course is at Level 3 standard,  however, we would like good Level 2 students (with permission of the Head of Teaching) to be able to take this course in the summer following Level 2.

The head of department may permit Erasmus students and students registered for a designated degree to take this course. Any students taking this course should have Computing Science knowledge at a level appropriate for the work intended on the project as discussed with the client and the course organiser.

Placements:

The placements are to be found by the students, or someone else (e.g. the Careers Service). The course organiser needs to approve the placement prior to its commencement, in order to ensure that it contains a suitable computing component. Placements cannot be done as part of the software engineering project, or an honours project.
